Aphid
A small sap-sucking insect, usually green but sometimes black, gray or orange. The plant will become unsightly and growth is weakened. Even worse are the viruses which aphids carry. Spray with horticultural soap.
Whitefly
A serious and common pest. The adult flies are unsightly the greenish larvae on the underside of the leaves suck sap and deposit sticky honeydew. Whitefly can occur in great numbers and eradication by spraying is difficult.
Red Spider Mite
A minute sap-sucking pest which infest the underside of leaves of many plants when conditions are hot and dry. The upper surface of the leaf becomes mottled and white webbing is sometimes produced. Mist daily. Spray with a Neem oil, repeat as necessary.
Slugs
Irregular holes appear in the leaves of many plants and tell-tale slime tracks can be seen. These pests generally hide under rubbish and are attracted by decaying vegetation, so keep it clean..
